Encyclopædia Iranica
Encyclopædia Iranica is a great project of the center of Iranian studies of the Université of Columbia consisting in creating an encyclopedia in English language in connection with the history and of the culture of the Iran (Perse).
Twelve volumes were already published, on a laid down total of 30 volumes. It is published by Ehsan Yarshater and a whole team directed by Mahmoud Khayami, including 40 university editors and 910 authors with the the United States, in Europe and Asia, of which Nicholas Sims-Williams, Richard Nelson Frye, Gherardo Gnoli, Xavier de Planhol, Hamid Algar, Christoph Marcinkowski and others.
Since 1979, it was sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and of the funds were poured to him by the NEH and various charitable organizations or individuals.
The complete text of the articles is available to the consultation on line. The users of PC need only one free font face to download, in order to be able to read the characters and accents suitably.
