Enchenberg

Enchenberg is a common French, located in the department of the the Moselle and the area Lorraine. The Village located in the Bitscherland, belonged to the Regional natural park of the Vosges of North and the basin of life of the Moselle-is.

History

The village preserves testimonys of the prehistoric time . Two Gallo-Roman sites were discovered near the village and a Statue of Mercure in sandstone put at the day in the forest. The village is mentioned in 1286 in the form Ennechenberg : the mountain of Enniko , a name of man. The village, crossed to the the Middle Ages by the main road connecting Strasbourg to Trier, has two variations: old supposed of Guisberg the, founded one in 1736 and which depended on the Abbaye of Sturzelbronn, and the farm of Heiligenbronn , property of Claude-Charles of the Lance of Moranville, captain of the Chasse S of the duke of Lorraine. At the 18th century, a forging mill exists in the variation of Guisberg, pertaining to the Abbaye of Sturzelbronn.

From the point of view of spiritual, Enchenberg, branch of Siersthal during the Old Mode, is set up in Paroisse in 1802 and is formed part since this date of the archpriest of Rohrbach.
