Empath

Empath is a character pertaining to the universe of the comics Marvel. It was created by Chris Claremont and Sal Buscema in New Mutants (volume 1) #16 (1984).

History

Empath, of its true Manual name Alfonso of Rocha, was a Mutant equipped with the capacity to control the emotions of people surrounding it; to be able he misused to serve his ends. Member of the Hellions - young mutants gathered under the aegis of the White Queen (alias Emma Frost) to counter the New Mutants Professor Xavier - it was one of only of the team to survive the massacre perpetrated by Fitzroy. He left the the United States following this tragedy and found refuge with Nova Roma in company of Magma.

Empathy

The author took as a starting point the word Empathie to create the nickname of his character.
