Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota is a Acteur, Dramaturge and director of Théâtre French born in 1970.
Biography
He is the son of Richard Demarcy, playwright, poet and director, creator of the experimental group of the Naïf Theater and former general secretary of the Théâtre of the Commune of Aubervilliers.He studies with the Lycée Rodin in the 13th district of Paris, where he founds in 1989 a theater company with other pupils. They present work on Eugene Ionesco, Luigi Pirandello, Frank Wedekind, Erdman. The troop widens more and more during the years which follow.
In 1999, Demarcy-Mota receives the Price of the theatrical revelation, by the National union of dramatic and musical criticism, for its setting in scene of Peine of love lost .
Named the directing on July 27th, 2001 of the Comedy of Rheims, it takes its functions in January 2002. It will put at it in scene parts of Fabrice Melquiot, like Martia Hesse in September 2005. In 2006, it adapts the part Rhinocéros of Eugene Ionesco which is a great success in the French rooms of theater.
It is with the artistic Collective of the Comedy of Rheims that it will assemble Ionesco Suite in 2005, then Variations Brecht in 2006, thus carrying out a true work laboratory which proposes a real reflection on the theater of the more great authors of the 20th century.
In September 2007 it is named with the head of the Théâtre from the City in Paris, where it will succeed spring 2008 with Gerard Violette.
