Emmanuel College is the seminar of the plain Église of Canada of the Victoria University to the Université of Toronto. It is an institution member of the École of theology of Toronto.

When fusion took place leading to the creation of the linked Church, a certain number of congregations of the Église presbytérienne with the Canada chose to remain as a distinct denomination. Knox College was to be used as seminar for the new church. However, the legislative Assemblée of Ontario granted the property of it to the presbytériens which refused fusion. The teachers as well as the majority of the students thus left Knox College to form Union College , become Emmanuel College during fusion with Victoria College.
