Emmanuel Bourdieu

Emmanuel Bourdieu , born in 1965 in France, is a Scénariste, Dramaturge and Réalisateur French. He is the son of the Sociologue Pierre Bourdieu.

Biography

Former student of the National university, aggregate of Philosophy and doctor in Philosophy, Emmanuel Bourdieu was assistant and part-time lecturer of philosophy to the Université Bordeaux III, and assisting in linguistics with the Université Paris VII. He took part in the conference of Cerisy on “American philosophy”.

At the time of its studies, it meets Jeanne Balibar and Arnaud Desplechin, with which, supplemented Mathieu Amalric, Emmanuelle Devos, Denis and Bruno Podalydès, it created the group of young intellectual scenario writers Left bank .

Emmanuel Bourdieu begins its career of scenario writer to the theater with the part All my possible and I believe , assembled in 1998 by Denis Podalydès. He writes then for the cinema, with Arnaud Desplechin ( How I disputed… (my sexual life) , Esther Kahn ), Nicole Garcia ( Place Vendôme ) and Catherine Corsini ( the News Eve ).

He passes to the realization in 1998 with a Short-measuring entitled Venice , then Candidature for which he obtains the Prix Jean-Vigo (2001) and the César of the cinema of best short-measuring (2003).

In its first feature film, simultaneously left to the cinema under the title Green paradise and diffused on Arte like the Juniors by Gascogne , it is based on the sociological work of his father, the Ball of the single people: Crisis of the country company in Béarn . In 2006, the malefic Friendships receives the Grand Prix of the Critic to the Cannes festival.
