Emmanuel-Happiness of Durfort , duke of Lasted (September 19th 1715 - September 6th 1789 with Versailles), is a French diplomatic politician and, even and Marshal of France.

At eighteen years, by resignation of his father, he is already duke and musketeer.

He took part in almost all the wars of Louis XV: countryside of Italy (1733-1734), countryside of the Rhine (1735 and 1743), countryside of Bavaria (1742), countryside of Flanders (1744-1745), countryside of Germany (1760-1761).

Ambassador in Spain between 1752 and 1755, created Even of France in December 1755 and Marshal of France in March 1775, it accepted the command of the Brittany, the government of Franche-Comté and places it of first Gentilhomme of the room of the king. In 1755, he was governor of the Castle Trumpet.

In 1757, it is named director of the French comedy and the Italian comedy. He was elected member of the French Academy, on May 2nd 1775, where he sat at the armchair n° 34. He would have, says one, contributed to the drafting of articles of the Encyclopédie on military science. Bibliophile, his Bibliothèque was dispersed with the biddings in 1790.

It Marie, first once, in May 1733, with Charlotte Antoinette of the Door Mazarin (1719 - 1735), only daughter of the duke of Mazarin. He marries, in second weddings, Louise Maclovie de Coëtquen in June 1736, girl of Malo III of Coëtquen which is the phantom of Combourg evoked by Chateaubriand. In 1761, it sells part of the dowry of his wife, namely the county of Combourg to the father of Chateaubriant.
