Emma Bonino

Emma Bonino (March 9th 1948 with Bra, Piedmont) is a political woman Italy. It is currently Député E with the Italian House of Commons and minister for the European Businesses and the Foreign trade in the Gouvernement of Romano Prodi II.

In 1972, it is graduate of a prestigious university Milan ease: the University Bocconi.

The December 4th 2006, it is put in Hunger strike for the right to the Euthanasie.

National political career

elected with the Italian House of Commons in 1976, re-elected with each following election (1979, 1983,1987,1992,1994). Re-elected in April 2006.
it creates the Information center on the sterilization and the Avortement in 1975 and it supports the Référendum which was going to allow the legalization of the abortion in Italy.
it supports in 1986, the referendum against the nuclear energy which leads to the abandonment of the Italian nuclear civil program.
named Minister for the European Businesses (without wallet, attached to the presidency of the Council) and Minister for the International business (with wallet) in May 2006, in the Government Romano Prodi II.

International political career

elected with the the European Parliament as of 1979 - re-elected in 1984, 1999 and 2004.
secretary of the transnational Radical party of 1993-1994, president of 1991 to 1993.
in October 1994, it is named Chef of the delegation of the Italian government at the General meeting of the the United Nations for the Moratoire on the Capital punishment.
of 1994 with 1999, it is European Commissioner, in load of the Consumers, Fishings and also of the Head office of the humanitarian aid (ECHO). It must resign in 1999, with all the commission, because of the inculpation of Edith Cresson. Nevertheless, the board of inquiry would have also found embezzlements in ECHO.
in November 2002, it is indicated Chef of the delegation of the Italian government to the intergovernmental Conference of the Community of the Democracies with Seoul.
in 2005, it directs the European Union Election Observation Mission to Afghanistan 2005 , a mission of observation of the Afghan elections of the European Union.

With Marco Pannella, it fought many battles on the Human rights (divorce, abortion, Drogue S, freedoms religious and sexual). It fought against the hunger, the genital mutilations and for the abolition of the Capital punishment.

In June 1999, it obtained a historical score with the European elections. Its Lista Bonino obtained 7 of the 87 Italian seats of appointed European.

In December 2001, it settled with the Cairo in order to learn the Arab and the Arab culture. Lastly, it founds in 2006 the coalition of the Pink to the fist, which links its party, the Radicaux Italian, with the Socialistes Italian democrats.

The July 17th 2007, it presents its resignation to protest against the project to reconsider the reform of the retirements. But the Prime Minister Romano Prodi has refuses it.
