Local policy

Before the municipal elections of 2004, the municipality was managed by a left majority (CHP, SHP, DSP, TIP) directed by the social democrat mayor (CHP) Ismet Güler, who lost the capacity with the profit of a coalition of right-hand side and extreme line (AKP, MHP, DYP, ANAP, 10 seats out of 15) directed by moderate islamist engineer (AKP) Lütfi İhsan Dağ.

Since 2004, the assistant of the mayor in charge of the foreign relations is Metin Edeer (MHP), which lives with Brussels since 1978 and turns over to Emirdağ only during the estival holidays.
