Emile Senart
Emile Charles Marie Senart (March 26th 1847 with Rheims - February 21st 1928 with Paris) is a Indianiste French.
In addition to many epigraphic work , one owes him in particular several translations in French of Buddhist texts and Hindu, of which several Upanishad.
He is member of the Académie of the inscriptions and the humanities in 1882, president of the Asian Société of 1908 to 1928 and founder of the French Association of the friends of the East in 1920.
