Emil Szittya

Emil Szittya (1886-1964) is writer born with Budapest - Austria-Hungary. Its true name is Adolf Schenk .

Emil Szittya lived a true bohemian life: It settles with Paris in 1906, then with Zurich of 1914 with 1918. It was friendly with all the members of the avant-garde on which it wrote a book of memories: Das Kuriositäten Kabinette . He was coeditor of DER Mistral a newspaper pre dadaist. Its life is rather close to that of another revolutionist and marginal: Franz Jung. It was friendly with Blaise Cendrars, a first meeting had taken place with Leipzig. Then, they were found in Paris towards 1910 - 1911 or Emil published the first series of its review Neue Menschen . The material difficulties were large, Blaise, Emil and Marius Hanot launched a French version of Neue Menschen : the New men , re-examined Franco-German: free and anarchistic.

Emil Szittya will be a true meteor and Bohemian writer of the European literature. True apostle of the avant-garde, it launches the poet Kassak and Blaise Cendrars and was certainly the first to recognize the genius of a Chagall.

  • 1945 lives 149 rue du Château, works with the Coffee of the 2 Nest eggs,
  • 1961 meets Franz Jung in Paris.
  • 1964 Dies on November 26th in Paris with the House of the tuberculous one.
