Emil Selenka
Emil Selenka is a German zoologist , born the February 27th 1842 with Braunschweig and dead the February 20th 1902 with Munich.
He is the son of the bookbinder Johannes Selenka (1801-1871). Emil Selenka studies the Natural history with the Université of Göttingen. In 1868, he is professor of Zoologie and Comparative anatomy with the Université of Leyde. In 1874, it leaves to the Université Erlangen. He works mainly on the embryonic development of the echinodermatous S and of the Vertébré S. He is one of the founders of the review Biologisches Zentralblatt . With his wife, Ehefrau Leonore, it organizes and directs a voyage in the east of the Asia. Leonore Selenka makes appear the report of this voyage under the title of Sonnige Welten. Ostasiatische Reiseskizzen. Borneo - Java - Sumatra - Vorderindien - Ceylon - Japan (Wiesbaden, 1905).
