Emesene

Emesene is a free customer of instant messaging (under LPG), and a “clone” of MSN Messenger.

Development

Emesene is Multiplate-form: it functions under Windows and Linux. The program is written by using the Python, GTK+, PyGTK and pyCairo.

Functionalities

Current functions

The currently implemented functions are:

basic Use of Messenger: emoticons, misadventures, addition/suppression/blocking of contacts, the groups
Wizz ( Nudges in English) (do not make vibrate window DMG:) )
the automatic posting of the music currently played in your favorite reader with the contacts
Bubble of information, bubble indicating when a contact has been just connected or when you receive an email

Soon

In the next version, the transfer of file, Direct Connect and the procole MSNP15 will be implemented.

In the future

In the future, the following functions will be implemented:

Support of the webcam
Possibility of adding the support of another protocols like AIM, Jabber, Yahoo via plugins

AMSN

aMSN, following the example Emesene, is a free “clone” of Windows Live Messenger, while functioning in addition to Windows and Linux under Mac OS X and FreeBSD.

Windows Live Messenger

Windows Live Messenger is the official customer of the procole MSN, he functions only under Microsoft Windows.
