Opening practiced in a parapet of Bastion to point and draw from the gun.
- Opening widened towards outside practiced in a wall in order to receive (in a rabbet) the framework Sleeping of a carries or of a FenĂȘtre. By extension, empty left in the thickness of wall per bay outside but also inside, term used in the place of the splaying (or the lamp-shade of window in thick wall widened towards the interior).
