Embraer ( EM pressed Br will asileira Aer onautica) is a aeronautical Constructeur Brésil IEN, specialized in the civil aircrafts of small and of average cuts.

4th manufacturer in the world, (behind Airbus, Boeing and Bomber), it sold in 2003 approximately 104 planes. Its main competitor is Canadian Bombardier.

History

Based in 1969 on a governmental initiative, the first military aircrafts Xavante are produced in 1971 until in 1982. In 1972, EMB 110 is delivered to the Força Aérea Brasileira (FAB).

In 1980, Embraer amalgamates with the company Neiva (Indústria Aeronáutica Neiva S.A.) and the first flight of EMB 312 Tucano (Toucan) takes place. Privatization in 1994. In 1995, first flight of ERJ 145 and in 1998 that of ERJ 135.

The company is introduced on the markets of NYSE and BOVESPA in July 2000. In August, it delivers the 300e ERJ 145 to British Regional Airlines. The 400e was delivered in March 2001 to Crossair and the 500e with America West in September of the same year.

The Embraer 170 which marks a stage in the development of the company (70 seats) rolls for the first in time in October 2001 and steals in February 2002.

The 600e ERJ 145 is delivered in May 2002 to SWISS.

In 2003, the company is based with São Jose back Campos - SP, it employs more than 11.000 people. The shareholders are in particular CIA. Bozano, PREVI, SISTEL (60%) and a group formed by Dassault Aviation, EADS, Snecma, and Thalès (20%).
