Emanuel Lasker (December 24th 1868 with Berlinchen, Germany - January 11th 1941 with New York) is a player of failures and a German Mathématicien. World champion of failures, it is seen as a player who prefers to face the adversary psychologically. Since the official creation of the title, it is that which preserved it longest, that is to say 27 years.

Biography

Professional player of failures, it was doctor in Mathématiques and Philosophie.

He was the second world champion, taking the title with Wilhelm Steinitz in 1894 (+10-5=4). He kept it until in 1921, leaving it with Jose Raul Capablanca. Its 27 years reign equalized forever to date.

Equipped with an eclectic style, it could adapt to the style of play of its partner to beat it, even if the risk had to be taken to lose the part.

It sometimes happened to him during its career to give up during some time the failures. For Lasker, to play failures was a trade like another. If the reward for the furnished effort were worth the sorrow of it, it was ready to play, if not it was occupied with another thing. He was thus member of the team of Germany of Bridge to the championship of the world, just like he finished his doctorate in mathematics during his reign on the failures.

He was friendly of Albert Einstein.
