Elvin Jones
Elvin Jones (September 9th 1927, May 18th 2004) is a beater of Jazz.
Famous for its play and its humility, this large character of the world of the Jazz which took each concert like a new challenge, cĂ´toie Bud Powell, Charles Mingus, Jay Jay Johnson, Miles Davis and Sony Rollins in the beginning of its career. It is distinguished then at the sides from the saxophonist John Coltrane in the years 1960, then accompanies the Duke Ellington Orchestra for only three days in Europe. Until very little before its death, it will be with the head of its own group, Elvin Jones' S Jazz Machine.
