Elric de Melniboné

Elric de Melniboné is a character of fiction invented by the English writer Michael Moorcock. He is the hero of the cycle of Elric, written between 1961 and 1972.

Inspired by Zenith the Albino, the malicious of the series Sexton Blake , Elric is a albino with failing health, which obliges it to consume many remedies until it finds Stormbringer, a sword which, by drinking the hearts of its adversaries, is able to give again strength to him.

Last emperor of the island of Melniboné in full decline, it vainly tries to introduce reforms there, but sees himself finally constrained to bring his fall following the félonie of his cousin Yyrkoon. Tormented by the murder of his cousin and amante Cymoril, he traverses his world thereafter, like some other worlds of the Multivers, at the sides of his faithful friend Tristelune of Elwher.

He is moreover, just like most of the characters of Moorcock, one of the incarnations of the Champion eternal, intended to restore the Balance between the Law and Chaos in Multivers.

Cynical hero, although capable of compassion, Elric inspired by many writers, who included it in many news (the Contes of the White Wolf ).
