Eloy of Iglesia

Eloy Germán of Iglesia (Zarautz, Guipúzcoa, January 1st 1944 - March 23rd 2006) Spanish Director.

Its cinematographic career starts in 1966 with Fantasía… 3 , but the realizer knows a greater freedom of expression since the Spanish Democratic transition, and thus delivers film subjects which treat homosexuality like Los placeres occultos (1976) or El diputado (1978). He obtains a success in 1983 with, El Pico which treats drug. To 57 years Eloy of Iglesia Caligula Albert Camus adapts which it compares with his major character of its film Navajeros (1980). One also owes him after 16 years of absence to the cinema the Bulgarian lover , adapted novel of Eduardo Mendicutti which is the last film of Eloy of Iglesia.
