Elliot Richardson
Elliot Lee Richardson , born the July 20th 1920, dead the December 31st 1999, was an American politician.
Richardson is lieutenant-governor of the Massachusetts (1965-1967), then Attorney General of the same State (1967-1969). Under the administration Nixon, it is successively with the head of three ministries: Health and Education (1970-1973), Defense (1973) and Justice (1973). At the time of the Scandal of Watergate, he refuses to return, at the request of Nixon, the independent special prosecutor Archibald Cox, and resigns on October 20th, 1973. Under the presidency of Gerald Ford, he is ambassador in London (1975-1976), then secretary with the Trade (1976-1977).
