Elli Medeiros

Elli Medeiros is a Chanteuse and Actrice born with Montevideo, Uruguay the January 18th 1956.

Biography

His/her mother Mirtha Medeiros actress and member of the national school of Uruguay, took it along as of her more young age, to attend her courses of theater. Graduate Mirtha, its career quickly became very active and Elli itself was engaged each time for the roles of child in the plays or the telefilms.

At four years, its first role was that of the son of Mrs Butterfly with the Opera of Montevideo. Orson Welles had the same first role at the same age. The father of Elli leaves the hearth whereas it is five years old.

Elli and its mother leave Uruguay for the Argentine and finally, Paris, where Elli is registered with the École of the applied arts which it gives up before obtaining her vat: she indeed has just begun as singer in the Stinky Toys with her companion Jacno - Parisian Group, spearhead of the young French punk scene, the Stinky Toys give some concerts in London festivals with The Clash and The Sex Pistols and make the cover of the Melody Maker. Malcolm McLaren is interested in the group and borrows from Elli the idea of the pins from nurse which retain its Jean torn to make the symbol of the punk one of it. The group which praises anarchy, the festival and excesses, causes a true fascination in the connected mediums and in particular near Alain Pacadis. After two mythical and influential albums, the group separates. Elli continues to sing with Jacno. Both become the techno-pop duet worship Elli and Jacno, which strongly influenced the sound of the Années 1980. It becomes the sex symbol of the Eighties and poses as a cover for Playboy. Elli also published Cartoons in the connected “smart” press (" Annie likes the sucettes" , Frontage , etc), where she entrusts her passion for the Végétarisme.

It creates itself its small pockets, but also clothing and accessories with the complicity of her friend designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, for example. Parallel to the music, Elli followed courses of theater and turned of films with Philippe Garrel, Tonie Marshall, Olivier Assayas, Marion Laine, Brigitte Coscas, Stephan Giusti or Christophe Rodriguez. In the Nineties, Elli devotes its time has his/her four children and with his companion Brian de Palma while making some incursions into the music through participations like Jazz in Saint-Germain or more visible with the cinema, as in Jet-set or Why not me at the sides of Johnny Halliday.
