Elisso Virssaladze
Elisso Konstantinovna Virssaladze (in Géorgien: ელისოკონსტანტინესასულივირსალაძე; in,), born with Tbilissi (Georgia) in 1942, is a Soviet pianist then Georgia.
Beginnings
It began its studies of piano with her large mother Anastasia Virssaladze. This one was a recognized pianist, and taught to him into private but also at the school for exceptionally gifted of Tbilissi, where it was professor. After having obtained its diploma with the local academy, Elisso Virssaladze leaves to study with Moscow where it has as professors Heinrich Neuhaus and Iakov Zak.She gives her first concerts to the 16 years age, and gains its first contest in 1959, with the International festival of Vienna after having received the third price of the international Concours Tchaïkovski. She acquires a certain fame thus, particularly because of her young age. In 1966, it gains the gold medal of the Concours Schumann of Zwickau, in Germany.
Career
Although Elisso Virssaladze has an indisputable reputation, its career of soloist was less spectacular than that of some of its school-fellows. Its tounées are voluntarily occasional, in order to be able to devote itself to teaching with the Conservatoire of Moscow and the Hochschule für Musik of Munich. In 1983, it nevertheless is quoted by Mark Zilberquit in its book Grands modern pianists of Russia .It is been part regularly of the jury of international big competitions, like the Concours Rubinstein of Tel Aviv and the Tchaïkovski Contest of Moscow. It records for several productions, and plays regularly in duet with the violoncellist Natalia Gutman. As concert performer, she collaborates with orchestras the such Philharmonic orchestra of Saint-Pétersbourg and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and appears occasionally with other major international orchestras. She works finally with famous chiefs, of which Rudolf Barshaï, Riccardo Muti, Kurt Sanderling, Ievgueni Svetlanov or Antoni Wit.
Its repertory of predilection joins together Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Prokofiev and particularly Schumann, for which the critic recognized a particular talent of interpretation to him.
