Elissa

Elissar Khoury , known under the name of Elissa (rear RTL إليسا) is a singer Lebanon ease. It was born on October 27th, 1970, and left its first disc in 1998, Baddi Doub .

Biography

Elissa began its career in the song with the beginning of the year 1990, with the Studio Fan. After a long absence it returns in the world of the music with its disc Baddi Doub of style arabo-Spanish. Its first album was sold with more: 150000 copies with the Lebanon and the the Middle East. The artist of Flamenco Gerald Ferrer took part in this album.

Its second project goes back to 2000, a duet with Ragheb Alama for the song Betghib Betrouh . Its popularity increased much with this song. The song is included in its second album W' akherta Ma' ak which was sold has more: 200000 specimens.

Its fourth album Ahla Donya left in 2004, it is one of the albums most sold in the Middle East with more: 3400000 specimens. It is the first album which it left after its signature contract with the music channel panarabe Rotana. The album was elected better album of the Arab Monde by the World Music Awards in August 2005.

Today Elissa is one of the egeries of the mark Pepsi with which it turned three pubs, but also the glasses VOGUE.

Its fifth album, Bastanak was sold with: 3700000 specimens. It is the rival of other Arab singers like Nancy Ajram, Nawal Al Zoghbi, Najwa Karam and Haifa Wehbe. In 2006, Elissa took part in several publicities for Pepsi with the American singer Christina Aguilera.

In 2006, Elissa records a duet with the singer of Algerian spoke Cheb Mami. Their duet becomes known towards the end of 2006 beginning 2007.
