Elisee de Montagnac

André Joseph Elysium de Montagnac (Pouru-with-Wood, August 17th 1808 - Charleville, September 16th 1882) was a Industrie L French. He invented a new fabric, the Velours Montagnac, which made known its name in the whole world.

Resulting from a former family from the Limousin, wire and brother of officers died on the battle field, it developed and improved the manufacture of cloths of Sedan. He will be high knight of the Légion of honor in 1840, then officer, in 1865.

He was successively member of the municipal council of Sedan, General adviser of the Ardennes, then, in 1860 he is elected Député. He will be re-elected with three recoveries.
