Elisabeth Roudinesco

Elisabeth Roudinesco is a Psychanalyste and historian of the French psychoanalysis born with Paris, the September 10th 1944. It gives, since 1991, a seminar on the history of the psychoanalysis within the framework of the doctoral School of the department of history of the Université Paris Vii-Denis-Diderot (UFR of Geography, Histoire, and Sciences of Health) and of EPHE. Its works are translated into about thirty languages.

Course

Girl of Jenny Aubry and Alexandre Roudinesco, both Doctor S, it made her secondary studies with the Sévigné College. She then continued her higher learning with the Sorbonne where she obtained her license of modern Letters, with a linguistic option. She supported her control with Tzvetan Todorov with the Université Paris VIII-Vincennes, then her thesis of doctorate of third cycle with Jean Levaillant in 1975. She was the pupil of Gilles Deleuze and Michel de Certeau. Then it supported its accreditation to supervise research in history (HDR) in 1991 with as director of thesis Michelle Perrot. Members of the jury: Alain Corbin, Jean-Claude Passeron, Robert Castel, Dominique Lecourt, Serge Leclaire. Published under the title Genealogies .

From 1969 to 1981, it was member of the École freudienne of Paris founded by Jacques Lacan, where it received its psychoanalytical formation. It formed meanwhile part of the editorial board of the poetic review Action of 1969 to 1979. Collaborator with the newspaper Release of 1986 to 1996, it was in charge of conferences to the Ecole of the high studies in social sciences as from 1992. In 1996, it ceases its collaboration with Libération for the Le Monde newspaper, and, in 1997, it becomes member of the committee of the review the man , until 2002. From 2001 to 2007, it is in charge of conferences to the practical École of the high studies, IVe section, and then, as from 2007-2008, integrated into the team of reception of Jacque It To wrinkle and Esther Benbassa in Vè section of the EPHE.

Political stations and positions

It is:
  • research director at the department of history (UFR-GHSS) of the university of Paris VII - Denis Diderot since 1991.
  • in charge of conferences at the School of the high studies in social sciences (1992-1996). Responsible for conferences to the EPHE (2001-2007).
  • vice-president of the international Company of history of psychiatry and psychoanalysis (SIHPP), since 1990.Et president since March 2007.
  • Member of the drafting of the review Mediterranean Private clinics, directed by Roland Gori and Marie-Jose del Volgo.
  • Member of the scientific committee of the Collaborator review History off Psychiatry since 2003.
  • with the newspaper Release (1986-1996), then with the newspaper Le Monde , since 1996.
  • Visiting Professor with the Middlesex University of London since 2006.

Elisabeth Roudinesco took, as from 1997, of the positions public policies: in favor of the rights of the homosexual couples to adopt children. She was opposed to positive discrimination (against the Watchdogs, in particular). She was favorable to the prohibition of the port of the Islamic veil at the school. Lastly, it gave an opinion in many debates on the Laïcité, the cloning, the genetics, the innate one and the asset, in particular criticizing the collective expertise on INSERM on psychotherapies. It is one of the first signatories of the petition " Not zero of conduite" who opposes tracking delinquency in the children of less than three years.

Legal quarrel

Elisabeth Roudinesco was continued for slandering, as well as the editions Gallimard and Claude Lanzmann, by the Club of the Clock, which she showed of Antisémitisme masked following an article published in Modern times n°627, April, May, June 2004, under the title " The Club of the Clock and the psychoanalysis. Chronicle of an anti-semitism masqué". In the same way on the book of Jacques Bénesteau: Lies freudiens . Following a simultaneous request of Mr Bénesteau and Club of the Clock, it was released by the magistrates' court by a judgment of June 2nd, 2005. Mr Benesteau, defended by Mayor Wallerand de Saint Just, was débouté and did not appeal, contrary to Henry de Lesquen, chair Club of the Clock and defended by Maître Niolay Fakiroff. Mrs Roudinesco was defended by Maître Muriel Brouquet-Canale and Maître Georges Kiejman. The judgment of first authority was confirmed on March 1st, 2006, by the Court of Appeal of Paris which débouté the Club of the Clock. And finally the Court of appeal rejected on March 6th, 2007 the appeal of the Club of the Clock, judging that the article of Elisabeth Roudinesco did not comprise defamatory charges.
