Elisabeth Dufourcq

Elisabeth Dufourcq is French high-civil servant, former Secretary of State to research (1995).

Biography

Elisabeth Dufourcq, born Lefort of Ylouses, was born on December 7th, 1940 with Boulogne-Billancourt (the Seine). She led her secondary studies to the Jean college of the Fountain in Paris, and her higher learning with the Université Paris I - the Pantheon Sorbonne and Paris VI - Pierre and Marie Curie. Diploma of Institute of political studies of Paris, Control of history, CAPES of history and geography doctorate of political sciences, accreditation to supervise research, diploma of in-depth studies in public health and developing country.

It is the wife of Bertrand Dufourcq, former diplomat then General secretary of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

Professional life

Mission leader at and the development survey firm of Algeria (1961-1962), professor of history and geography to the college of Ivry (1973) to the Claude Monet college in Paris (1974), to the college of Saint Cloud (1978) mission leader, person in charge of the office of development of the scientific exchanges with North America at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs (1979).

Mission leader with the Inserm, chief of the cabinet of the managing director of Inserm (1980-1982), then chief of the office of development of the medical research in the countries of the third world (1982-1985), engineer of research in the Inserm unit 313 “tropical diseases and AIDS” (1988-1995), Member of the specialized scientific Commission Inserm “epidemiology and public health” and of the intercommission “clinical research” (1991-1995).

Part-time lecturer to the faculty of theology of the catholic Institute of Paris (since 1995).

Member of the national advisory committee of ethics for the health and life sciences (1993-1995), inspector general of the social affairs (since 1996). Regular member of the national Academy of sciences overseas (since 1994).

Ministerial functions

May 18th 1995, it is named Secretary of State to Research, function which it will exert until November 7th, 1995.
