Elisabeth Celnart

Elisabeth Celnart , of her true name Elisabeth-Félice Bayle (Mills, 1796 - 1865), is also known under the Pseudonyme S of Ellis Canard and Mrs. Bayle-Mouillard.

Its life

; A provincial anchoring Happiness-Elisabeth could achieve secondary studies thanks to her father, professor with the college of Moulins, which is remarkable for a girl at that time.

She married a lawyer of Clermont-Ferrand which became Prosecuting attorney at the royal Court of Riom. She wrote there many books in various kinds, and its reputation exceeded by far the framework of the Auvergne, its province.

; Notoriety For Pierre Larousse, “ It was made known by many written works, for the majority, with an aim of informing or of moraliser the women and the young girls ”.

It " écrivit" in particular several " Roret" handbooks; , on ordering of the editor, of which that with the use of the young ladies, that with the use of the nurses, etc

Like its contemporary Marie Armande Jeanne Gacon-Dufour (1753 - 1835), Celnart is a prolific author E and, like she, she also wrote many books concerning the rural Vie and the economy domesticates, the Protocole, etc

; An odor of plagiarism In 1834 appears its most famous work, the guide of perfumery , more known like the Manuel of the perfumer .

So as of its publication it is taxed with " plagiat" , it however will be very snuffed, often republished, also translated into several languages and in its largely plagiarized turn.
