Biography
Dimitar Ivanov Stoyanov, more known under the pseudonym “Elin Roble”, was born on July 18th, 1877 in Bajlovo in the province from Sofia in Bulgaria. Child, it is impassioned of reading and as of adolescence it publishes accounts in many reviews, reaching as of the 20 years age a great popularity. It follows the course common to many Bulgarian writers of its time, while starting as teacher in the villages, where it organizes arts centres and collaborates actively in many newspapers and literary reviews; he is the founder and writer of some of them like `Selska razgovorka' (country words), `Balgaran' (of Bulgaria) and deals with the edition of some periodicals for children `Svetulka' (glow-worm), `Pateka' (the path). During its stay in France it resumes its studies, and of return in Bulgaria he becomes librarian at the National library of Sofia and conservative of the I.Vazov Museum. In 1940, he is elected president of the union of the Bulgarian writers. He dies in Sofia on December 3rd, 1949.
