Eliahou Krauze
Eliahou Krauze ( אליהוקראוזה ) is born in Russia in 1878 and emigrates in Ground of Israel in 1892 with the first Aliyah.
Eliahou Krauze and its Ephraïm brother emigrate together in Palestine to study with Mikvé-Israel. Then, thanks to a purse granted by the baron Edmond de Rothschild, Eliahou leaves to continue its studies abroad. In the end of those, it takes part in the opening of a school of agriculture close to Izmir in Turkey, on behalf of the Yika.
It returns to Palestine in 1901. With the collaboration of Shohat Handled, it takes part in the preparation of pioneers to the work of the ground and puts at the honor female work. One of the close relations of Eliahou Krauze, Sara Sturmann, testifies to the day when this last placed two oxen at the disposal of a community of six workers. This young girls group plowing their grounds using two oxen will become tourist center of attraction about it. Hana Meizel, become thereafter agricultural instructress of future pionnières, counts among these six young girls.
Krauze becomes then director of Mikvé-Israel, which it will direct until the independence of Israel.
In 1952, it receives a price for its 50 years of devotion in the fields of agriculture and education in Israel.
Eliahou Krauze dies in 1962.
