Elephants of Chambéry
The Éléphants of Chambéry is a French club of Hockey based with Chambéry (Savoy) evolving/moving on the third national level (D2) for the season 2006-2007.
History
The Club of Hockey was born little time after the construction of the skating rink discovered of Bush-Round (1972) within the Club of the Winter sports of Chambéry from which it constituted a section in company of the Figure skating and Dance on ice. The Club of Hockey became then, at the end of the Eighties, an association with whole share under the name of " Hockey Chambéry" ; its colors: shirt, breeches, helmet and low blue. After the championship of France of D3 (April 1995), the H.G.C integrated the company omnisport called " Chambérien" Olympic stadium; (which until there gathered the foot, Rugby, the hand, swimming and the athletics) and became the S.O. Chambéry H.G. ; colors: yellow and black (logo, on the right of the higher stringcourse of this site).
1973-1977: Sirs DELAUNAY, BIANCHI and DEBIARD followed one another the presidency and engaged a senior team in championship of Savoy; this team made known a sport which was with its first stammerings in Chambéry.
1977- 1978: under the impulse of presidents PACAULT and COCCHI, several teams of minor hockey are committed in championship, despite everything the problems inherent in a skating rink with open sky.
1978- 1981: Bernard HOVASSE and his family directed their efforts towards the young people, setting up the infrastructure necessary (creation of a School of ice, purchase of material etc…)
1981-1984: Mr. EXARTIER and Mr. DELAUNAY have work in continuity.
1984-1994: Daniel STOPS ensured the perenniality of the club and supported his development during the difficult years (Tournament of Allobroges); in 1991 (date of the cover of the skating rink) helped by a new dynamic team parents it knew to give to the club the dash and the ambition necessary: development of the framing, engagement of new teams in minor hockey, engagement of a female team and engagement of flag a senior team in championship of D3 France; the team (trained by Patrice BOURILLON) finishes 3rd " final four" 1994 in Briançon, behind the organizer and Cholet and in front of Conflans.
1994-1997: Christian TO STACK, is launched in the bath with the mission of reaching in D2; the team (always pulled by P. BOURILLON and taken along on the ice by Laurent HOVASSE and Pierre VILLESSOUBRE) that point reaches in April 1995 after a semi-final gained high the hand to Albertville (in front of Nimes and reserves of Rebated joint and Bordeaux) and a final gained always high the hand but to Chambéry in front of Nimes, Courbevoie and Conflans-Holy Honorine.
1997-1999: The club drawn by an engine " D2" continue its walk ahead under the direction of Andre PROVENT who develops a " Affaires" club; ensuring the operation of the flag team; Yves CRETTENAND becomes trainer en1998.
1999-2001: Gerard FLORENTIN, takes over with the difficult task to make progress a club more than cash 200 bachelors, a school of ice, 1 team mosquito, 2 chicks teams, 1 youngest child team, 1 tiny team, 1 junior team, 1 junior team (noncommitted in 2000-2001), 1 " team; loisir" and 1 team flag N2; the drive is entrusted to Sebastien MESON in 1999.
June 2001: Gerard FLORENTIN not representing himself, it is Eric BOUILLER (until there treasurer) who replaces it at the dawn of one 7th season in D2… it always sets out again in 2002 shouldered by Pierre Escolier
Under the impulse of Yves Barboussat, new assistant of the sports of the town of Chambéry, the PLOWSHARE hockey is recognized among the clubs making the promotion of the city; it thus receives a raised subsidy. Moreover, the community of communes (Chambéry-Metropolis), improves the equipment of which it with management.
June 2003: . Daniel Bouche former President, then member of the Directing Office takes leave after more than 20 years of effective work carried out in discretion. The Directing Office which saw arriving (then to set out again…) novel members renews his confidence with Eric Bouiller and associates to him a copresident in the person of Philippe Fontanel. The club, to fall under the duration, put on the training of young people. A junior-hope team is registered in championship in 2002 and 2003. Eight players chambériens appear on the sheet of D2 match in 2003-04: Alexandre Fauge, Sylvain Oliva, Nicolas Jimenez, Emmanuel Rol, Mickaël Herdsman, Thomas Fontanel, Florian Allemoz and Damien Charles.
June 2004: Philippe FONTANEL assumes the chairmanship of Plowshare-Hockey on Ice; Pierre Escolier is vice-president and Michel Laboucarié treasurer.
