Elena Baranová
Elena Baranova , born the January 28th 1972 with Bishkek with the Kyrgyzstan, is a Russian player of Basket-ball, evolving/moving at the post of ailière.
Professional of basketball since 1988, at only sixteen years, it evolves/moves in many European clubs, of which passages in Israel, Turkey or Italy. During one of its returns in Russia, it gains three consecutive titles of champion of Russia and a Coupe Ronchetti. In 1999, she also plays four matches official in the male team of Mytischi Bison, in the regional league of Moscow.
In 1997, it joined the American league of WNBA, first of all at the Utah Starzz then joined Miami Sol following an exchange. In 2003, it is chosen by the New York Liberty.
In national selection, she first of all plays under the colors of the USSR since 1989. She gains with this selection the European title in 1991 in Israel.
The following year, it is under the colors of the CEI that it gains the Olympic title at the time of the Olympic Games of 1992 of Barcelona. It takes part in a second Olympic tournament in Atlanta, under the colors of the Russian selection. With this one, it gains the money medal to the Championnat of the world 1998 in Germany, as well as a money medal at the time of the Eurobasket 2001 in France and a bronze medal at the time of the edition of 1995.
