Elektra Records is a famous company of edition musciale, famous for the stars of the Rock which it produced, as Love, the Doors, Metallica or the Buffalo Springfield.
History
The Elektra label is created by Jac Holzman, is impassioned classical music and of folk, fine 1950 with the 300 $ of its Bar Mitsva. It starts with a traditional disc of song, then by another of folk in 1952. It is in this field that the house specializes first of all, producing several artists folk étasuniens or Mexicans. The house also produces research on the sound of certain artists. In 1965, it diversifies with pop singers, or underground Love groups it.
It is repurchased in 1967 by Warner Communications Inc. (which was called then Warner-Seven Arts).
