Electronic Sports World Cup

The Electronic Sports World Cup ( ESWC ) or World cup of the video games is an event of electronic Sport annual gathering the best teams of the world on plays such as Quake 4 , Counter-Strike , Warcraft III , TrackMania Nations ESWC or Pro Evolution Soccer . Players of the whole world clash during several days in the disciplines (or plays) which are clean for them in order to be made crown world champion of the discipline in question.

The teams reach the World cup by the means of qualificative stages which are organized in their respective countries. These qualificative stages can give place to other qualificative stages to reach it. For example, in France, the teams must take part in the circuit CyberLeagues to be able to qualify for the Coupe de France of the Video games which will enable them to be possibly qualified for the World cup of the Video games.

This competition is organized by a French company specialized in this kind of event: Range-Services (in the past Ligarena)

Characteristics

For the competition 2006, Nadéo in co-operation with Range-Services developed a play of race, TrackMania Nations ESWC (based on TrackMania Sunrise ), with an aim of preselecting the players of the whole world. The play free and is directed multijouor (as well in LAN as in line), but also has a solo mode.

The committee of the ESWC also hopes to establish Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 in the list, but they declared that it would not be official discipline before to have found an agreement with Konami.

The ESWC will be held in California, with nVIDIA as a large partner!
