The Ivory Coast elects at the national level a Head of State - the president - and an assembly. The president is elected by the people for a five years mandate. The National Assembly of Ivory Coast has 225 members elected for a 5 years nonrenewable mandate.
The Front of the People Man from the Ivory Coast to the capacity dominates the political life. The opposition parties are authorized but are not likely real to carry the elections. Following an peace agreement between the government and the former rebels in March 2007, the next elections are programmed for the beginning of the year 2008
