Elections in Iran
Iran elects by the vote for all the chief of the government (the president of the republic), a legislature (the Majlis of Iran) and an assembled experts (who elects the Head of the State, the Supreme guide). Local elections take place every four years through the country. The president is elected by the people for a four years mandate, renewable once. Parliament, or Islamic Consultative Assembly ( Majlis-e Shura-ye Eslami ) account 290 members, elected for four years. The elections of the assembly of the experts are held every eight years.
