Eldar

The Eldar (in Quenya “people of stars”, singular Elda ) are imaginary people of the work of J.R.R. Tolkien.

This name was given to all the Elfes by the Vala Oromë. Thereafter, name indicated more but Elves of three tribes (Vanyar, Noldor and Teleri) which agreed to leave Cuiviénen for great walk towards Valinor, and what they actually reached their destination or not. This term is thus opposed to Avari , the Elves who refused to follow Oromë. Eldar which reached Aman were called Top-Elves ( Tareldar ) or Elves of Light ( Calaquendi ).
