Elbows

Coudes is a common French, located in the department of the Puy-de-Dôme and the area of Auvergne. Coudes belongs to the urban surface of Clermont-Ferrand.

Geography

Elbows is located at the Confluent Allier and of the Couze Chambon, with the extreme limit of large the Limagne.

History

March 14th 1590, during the wars of religion, Coudes was set fire to by the armies which went against the town of Issoire near.

Places and monuments

Two bridges cross the Couze river: the first, with an arch in vault with broken cradle, was built as of the Moyen-âge. The second, a Suspended bridge, was built in 1855, at the time of the opening of the railway line of Clermont-Ferrand in Issoire. He connects the station (on the other bank Allier) to the village.
