El Volador

El Volador is an attraction of the park Bellewaerde.

It was the innovation 2005 for Bellewaerde which is team of this Topple Tower (Turn which falls) and this, of world exclusiveness. This exclusiveness even was worth some vexations for this apparatus:

  • Delay of grand opening (partly following climatic problems),
  • Of the adjustments had to be made, because the tower remained blocked.

Attraction starts by a vertical rise of the gondole. Just after the departure, the circular gondole starts to turn around the mast. Once the gondole having reached the point highest, rotation of the mast starts, but in the opposite direction of the gondole. At the same time also the movement begins from beam. The whole mast is inclined downwards in an angle of inclination of 60° and the nozzle of the bird is always pointed towards the ground. The mast is rectified and swivelled again, but in the opposite direction. After having balanced several times, the mast is restored in driving position and the circular gondole goes down again.

Today, this attraction of Huss is fully functional. Admittedly impressive, it is actually a family attraction which is very calm (too even for many people). It is in the zone Mexico that you will be able to admire this giant bird.
