El Madrigal is a Spanish football stadium based with Villarreal. Its capacity is of 23.000 place and its club resides the Villarreal CF.
The stage was inaugurated the June 17th 1923 by a match between the CD Castellón and Cervantès . The stage was called then Campo del Villarreal . It is into 1925 that the stage took the name of El Madrigal. It is called the Feudo Amarillo (yellow Stronghold).
At the summer 1952, work took place in order to increase the ground. El Madrigal passed from a dimension of 95 X 65 meters to 105 X 65 meters.
During the years 1960, the club set up a small covered platform and at the time of the season the 1971-1972 construction of the southern turn was completed.
At the time of the season 2005-2006, Villarreal took part in the League of the Champions. So that El Madrigal is in conformity with standards UEFA of the improvements were undertaken.
