the area of El-Bayadh is rich in prehistoric sites on which one meets many rupestral Gravures. The figurations are there primarily animalist (bubales, panthers, antelopes) but several human representations are associated there. Belonging to several péridodes and expressing several styles but less famous than those of the Tassili, they were listed and studied by many prehistorians since the end of the XIXe century, in particular by Henri Lhote ( rupestral engravings of the south-Oranian , Mémoires of the Research center anthropologques, prehistoric and ethnographic directed by [[Mouloud Mammeri]], Arts and Trades Graphic, Paris, 1970).
