Elīna Garanča

Elīna Garanča is a Latvian Mezzo-soprano born the September 16th 1976 with Riga, parents musicians. His/her father is Chef of chorus and his/her mother interprets Lied er.

She studies with Irina Gavrilovici then, in the United States, with Virginia Zeani.

She makes her beginnings at the time of a round of the Opera of Riga with Bucharest and Athens in the role of Giovanna Seymour ( Ann Boleyn ), then is committed in the troop of Meiningen, in Germany. She integrates then that of Frankfurt before signing a contract with the Wiener Staatsoper where she makes her beginnings in the role of Lola ( Cavalleria Rusticana ).

Its beginnings in France take place with the Théâtre of the Fields-Élysées in Cenerentola put in scene by Irina Brook. It returns there for the Così fan tutte of Patrice Chéreau, with Aix-en-Provence then with the Palais Garnier. It begins with the Opéra Bastille on December 14th, 2006 in the role from Octavian, with the raised foot. It returns to Paris in February 2007 for a concert to the Theater of the Fields-Élysées with Mariss Jansons in the Folksongs of Berio.
