Ekin Deligöz

Ekin Deligöz (born the April 21st 1971 in Turkey), is a political woman German of Turkish origin . She was elected for the party of the Verts to the Bundestag in 1998 and was re-elected in 2002 and the September 18th, 2005.

This graduate in administrative sciences was born in 1971 in Turkey, its arrival in Germany date of 1980. It became German citizen in February 1997 and was elected at the Bundestag for the Greens one year later.

She was re-elected in 2005 on the list with proportional to Neu-Ulm (Bavaria), where the list of the Greens obtained 6,4  % against 5,8  % in 2002; the uninominal system with Neu Ulm was gained, as in 2002, by the CSU, with a result more faible : 56,8  % against 61,4  %.

Threatened of death

In an interview with Bild amndt Sonntag dated October 15th, 2006, Ekin Deligöz declared, for the buckled women of Turkish origin: " I launch a call to all the Moslem women: join the current world, join Germany, it is here that you live, therefore remove your veil. Show that you have the same civil laws and human that the hommes" . In front of the flood of criticisms and the death threats which it received, it of the being placed under the protection of the German federal police.
