Eiichirō Oda

Eiichirō Oda (), born on January 1st 1975 with Kumamoto, in the prefecture of the same name, is a author of Manga Japanese.

Life and work

As of the 4 years age, Oda decides to follow a career of mangaka and is impassioned for the Viking S and the Pirates.

In 1992, it receives the honors of the 44e Prix Tezuka for its news Wanted , a western whose hero is haunted by the phantom of a man that it killed. The following year sees its first professional publication, Kami will kara reflected No puresento ( a gift of god for the future ), in the Jump Original of October 1993. The same year, it gains the contest of monthly talent organized by the drafting of the Weekly Shōnen Jump , the Tenkaichi Manga Award, with the news entitled Ikki Yakō ( the Voyage one night for a devil ).

After having given up the university, it goes to Tōkyō in 1994 and becomes the assistant of three mangakas working for the Weekly Jump : Shinobu Kaitani ( Midoriyama Organizes Gang ), Masaya Tokuhiro ( Jungle No ōja tar-chan , Mizu No tomodachi kapparman ) and Nobuhiro Watsuki ( Kenshin the vagrant ).

In parallel of its work of assistant, Eiichiro Oda publishes two news: Monsters in the Special Fall of 1994 and the first of the two versions of Lovesong Dawn in the Special Summer of 1996. A few months later, it makes finally its first appearance in the pages of the Weekly Shōnen Jump with the second version of Romance Dawn .

But Eiichiro Oda is truly success only after the publication of the first chapter of its work headlight, One Piece , in number 34 of the Weekly Shōnen Jump of 1997. The manga gains then very quickly in popularity and becomes a reference impossible to circumvent of the kind Shōnen on the same basis, according to some, as Dragon Ball of Akira Toriyama. Oda is one of rare the mangakas to have exceeded the bar of the 100 million mangas sold for a work in Japan and each new tome cheese of the series is sold to more than one million specimens.

In 2004, the Master married with Chiaki Inaba, an actress having doubled Nami in a special episode of the Jump Festa.

December 25th, 2006, the Weekly Shōnen Jump publishes to celebrate the 10th birthday of One Piece: Cross-country race epoch, a Cross-country race-over realized by Eiichirō Oda and Akira Toriyama.
