Egilmar II , (in German Egilmar II, graf von Aldenbuch), born towards 1108, deceased in 1143.

He was count of Aldenbuch of 1108 with 1143.

Marriage and descent

Egilmar II married Eilika de Werle-Rietberg (girl of the count Henri de Werle-Rietberg).

Five children were born from this union:

  • Henri Ier d' Oldenbourg, count d' Oldenbourg, count de Bruchhausen, count de Wildeshausen

  • Béatrix d' Aldenbuch (1104 - 1184), it married Frederic d' Ampfurt († 1179)

  • Eilika d' Aldenbuch (1106 - 1189), it married the count Henri de Tecklembourg († 1156)

Egilmar II succeeded his/her father in 1108 and controlled with his/her older brother Henri Ier d' Oldenbourg. It extended its territories until the Frise. It carried the titular title of count of Werle-Rietberg thanks to his marriage.

Genealogy

Egilmar II belongs to the first branch of the Maison of Oldenbourg. This line gave kings to the Denmark, with the Norway. It died out in 1863 with the death of Frederic VII of Denmark.
