Films

The Efke films are films black and white containing many money and which offers high latitudes of exposure. Their structure is rather simple, because it contains only one layer of emulsion, where the modern films contain several of them.

This causes to produce tons of gray different from what one usually sees. More especially as the films Efke 25 and 50 in particular are not very sensitive to the red (emulsions known as orthopanchromatic ). Some Photographe S prefer this returned, others not: it is a business of personal preferences.

The formulas of these emulsions are based on " recettes" old, based on a license dating from the the Fifties of the late company Adox. Their definition as their grain are not at the level of films produced today.

The full-course structure of the emulsion (coupled to a rather fine base) makes these films more fragile than usually, particularly when they are wet after the development. Certain photographers recommend to use a tanning fixer. Moreover, they can be curved more easily with drying.
