Efim Bogoljubov

Efim Dmitriyevich Bogoljubov ДмитриевичБоголюбов, or in German, Efim Bogoljubow (April 14th 1889 - June 18th 1952) is a player of failures originating in the area of Ukraine, but Russian of nationality (the Ukraine is not independent with its birth), become German in 1927 after having emigrated in Germany in 1926.

It received in 1951 the title of international Large-Master.

It took part twice in the Championship of the world of failures, each time against Alexandre Alekhine. It loses the first time in 1929 per 15,5 to 9,5, and the second in 1934 per 15,5 to 10,5.

The opening of the Defense Bogo-Indian (1.d4 Cf6 2.c4 e6 3.Cf3 Fb4+ in algebraic notation) car her name of Bogoljubov.
