Effect cocktail party
In Psychology, the effect cocktail party indicates in a picturesque way the capacity to focus its auditive Attention on a conversation when there is surrounding Bruit, for example at the time of a reception or a Cocktail. However even if our attention is focused on what our interloctuor says, we remain to a certain extent attentive with the external sounds. Indeed, if our name is pronounced by a third person in the room, our attention will be captured and disengaged conversation which we were following.
