Eesti Punane
The eesti punane is a bovine race Estonian. Its international name is estonian red cattle .
Origin
It is an old race, probably resulting from the importation of races of the branch Rouge of the Baltic, crossed with the race Eesti Maatõug. The goal was to create a race with butter top potnetiel. The genealogical Registre has étét opened in 1885. In the Years 1960, it received the influence of importation of seed and bulls Angeln, Danish red then Red holstein and Jersey. The cows were tested to improve the genetics of the herd. Currently, it is a declining race. Of: 492000 in 1880, manpower passed to: 168000 in 1990 and with: 60000 in 1997, of which: 12000 registered cows and 30 bulls. The seed of 66 males was stored.
Morphology
It wears a red dress mahogany tree. Its mucous membranes are color flesh and it does not carry horns.La cow measures 135 cm with the garrot for 550 kg and the bull 145 cm for 1000 kg.
Aptitudes
