Eelde
Eelde (in " drents" Eel) is a village in the province of Drenthe in the north of the Netherlands. Eelde is close to a28 highway (between the cities Assen and Groningue). Formerly the village was a municipality with whole share, called Eelde, but in 1998 Eelde amalgamated with the municipality of Tynaarlo. Tynaarlo is the name of a village smaller than Eelde, and is between the three villages, Eelde, Zuidlaren and Vries, which is the largest villages of the municipality. The modern town hall is in Vries.
During years of the twentieth century the villages of Eelde and Paterswolde were welded. Consequently the panels which announce the place names are changed. Now they indicate " Eelde-Paterswolde" instead of Eelde.
The airport of Groningue is located at Eelde (code AITA: GRQ).
