Edward Higgins White II (alias ED White ) is an American astronaut born the November 14th 1930 and deceased the January 27th 1967.
Missions carried out
ED white carried out one flight the June 3rd 1965, on board the capsule Gemini 4, in company of James McDivitt. It returned however in the history as being first American has to carry out a Sortie extravéhiculaire, less than 3 months after Soviet Alexei Leonov.
The history will also retain him that it was one of the three astronauts of Apollo 1, who died in the fire of their capsule at the time of a drive on the ground.
Others
Its memory was honoured by the astronaut David Scott, who deposited a commemorative plaque on the moon, like by attribution with its name to a Martian formation.
